The clients who experienced persistent auditory hallucinations were often distressed in their life. And the effects of auditory hallucination experience included slander, criticism, doing things that were not good for themselves, and even hurting themselves or others. It is necessary to assess and manage auditory hallucinations. Our assessment of auditory hallucinations included contents of auditory hallucinations, sound, frequency, source and the effects in clients' life. The modes of assessment included applying therapeutic communication skills, giving empathic support, helping clients by showing kind attitudes to help them cope with the suffering. We want to help clients to be able to adapt. Some ways we found to effectively controlling were through a group sharing behavior controls such as self monitoring, reading loudly, talking to others and listening to music by earphone. This article could help clients having auditory hallucinations assess and manage effectively, and help them cope with the trouble of auditory hallucinations.
