Liver transplantation increases year by year, and the chance of nursing these patients has been improved since the liver transplant procedure was referred to as the most effective way to treat end-stage liver disease by the National Institutes of Health Consensus, U.S.A. in 1983. Due to insufficient liver donations and increasing demands, intensive care is required that to stabilize the physiological status of the receiver until the operation day. The importance of offering physical, psychological, and family support has also been raised. This essay introduces liver transplant indication, instructions of immunosuppression agents, critical nursing points of recipients, and provides experience to those caring for liver transplant patients.
