An isolation ward is an unit that claims strict protective steps. However, we found that the rates of achieving protective steps' accuracy of visitors when pre-post-visiting the isolation ward were only 16.7% and 36.7%. Problematic analysis showed: 1. Environment: lack of isolation clothing, clothing barrels and antiseptic liquid, unclear markers of the protective clothing and unclear protective steps' contents. 2. Visitors: being illiterate or unfamiliar with protective steps. 3. Nurses: not introducing the protective steps accurately, insufficient knowledge of infection control. 4. Policy: failing to inspect regularly about nurses introducing the protective steps to visitors and putting into it the guidelines line. After improving the above defects the accuracy rate increased to 80% and reached the desired goal.
