Transition is a natural developmental course in life. A person's life is filled with personal developments, situational changes in states of health or sickness. Any transition can produce an enormous impact on the individual. The author used a technique of concept analysis described by Walker and Avent for the concept analysis of transition. The attributes of the concept were described with antecedents and consequences and also identified. A model case was provided and the application of transition to clinical settings was examined. The characteristics of the transitional period are: 1. Change in personal life, environment, state or mobile pattern. 2. Behavioral, thought and mood characteristics as a result from the change. 3. During the course of change, the individual appears to interact with the environment. Transitional antecedents include the important incidents or key factors and the consequence would be a success or failure in carrying out the transition.
