This report is about a nursing experience for a bladder cancer's patient who went through a radical bladder resection. The author evaluated the patient according to Gordon's 11 Functional Health Pattern and confirmed that he was anxious, in acute pain and down with infection. This patient's body image had also changed. The author could assist the patient in accepting the surgical operation through re-establishing the reliance and supplying clear and definite knowledge on hygiene. The patient was also encouraged to share his surgical experience in order to help him face life again and to improve his quality of life.
