The Right Kind of Labour, Education and Culture: The Significances of Craftsmen's Labour

摘要


通過對於鹿港小木工匠的經驗考察,本文主要探討工匠勞動所具有的意義。本文指出,工匠勞動不僅僅只是一種勞動形式。透過師徒制的訓練與工匠終其一生以實作為主的勞動模式,工匠勞動同時具有敎育與文化的意義,同時,也是一種確當的勞動模式。它主要將展現在倫理、道德…‘科學、知識、美學、藝術以及對於異化勞動的克服-人作為勞動的主體-等面向上。文亦指出,工匠勞動因此不應因其勞動形式的過時而被忽略,工匠勞動由於具有普遍性的價值,因此,應著力於建立其與代生活的連結方式。

This article discusses the significances of crafsmen’s labour based on the empirical investigations of Lukang’s carpenters (joiners). It argues that the craftsmen’s labour is not just a way of labour at all. Since the disciplines of apprenticeship and the labors throughout a craftsman’s life are constituted by practices, the craftsmen’s labour has the significances of educations and cultures both, and meanwhile it is a right kind of labour. It demonstrates the significances of multiple dimensions, such as ethic, moral, science, knowledge, aesthetic, and art; simultaneously, workman be the subject in the labour processes, and it is also the solutions of alienated labour. Since the craftsmen’s labour has the universal values, this article also argues that we should not neglect its significances because of it was out-of –date, and we should exert to find the linkages between it and modern life.
