The Freedom of Government Information Act was promulgated and enforced since December 28, 2005. It is essential for government entities to understand and integrate the Acts regulations in their day-to-day operations. The purpose of this article is two-fold: Firstly, it explores the major regulations of the Freedom of Government Information Act, regarding the active disclosure of Government information, allowed exemptions from disclosure, operating procedures, and appeal processes. Secondly, the article discusses the Act's application in tandem with current laws, and reviews the Acts operation in the current legal system.
