This article introduces the machineries, achievements and future prospects of gender mainstreaming in Taiwan. In 2005, the Committee on Women's Rights Promotion passed ”The Plan on Implementation of Gender Mainstreaming, Executive Yuan”. The government use tools such as gender disaggregated statistics, gender analysis, gender responsive budgets, gender impact assessments, and gender equality education and machineries to promote the plan. The government also organizes the Task Force for Support Gender Mainstreaming under the Committee on Women's Rights Promotion, the Task Force for Gender Equality and Focal Points in 37 ministries for plan promotion. In the future, the government will apply the gender impact assessments in long-term and mid-term plans, legislation and budgeting.
