奧地利作家溫克勒對死亡議題的執著在德語文學裡著實罕見。不論身處何方,他顯然難以擺脫死亡思緒的糾纏,隨時關心周邊的死亡事件。他甚至宣稱,只有蜷縮在裹屍布裡才能創作,而寫作則是他維繫存在的唯一可能性。《六本木》這部作品涵蓋十一篇文章,每篇都濃縮了他在其他著作裡所關注的議題。他透過此作所呈現的死亡儀式與屍骨意涵正是本文所欲探討的主軸。本文從宗教哲學的觀點出發檢視此作,探究文本中天主教、印度教和楢山歌謠中古代日本的死亡觀與屍骸觀。本文並進一步解析本書中同名中篇小說〈六本木〉的敘述者將亡父寄寓於白鷺鷥的念頭,思索箇中所寓含的佛教與基督教精神,藉此透視文中的父子衝突。
Among the German speaking writers, the Austrian author Josef Winkler belongs to one of few who insist on discussing the subject of death unwaveringly. It is difficult for him to free himself from his reflections on death, wherever he is. Above all, he cannot but mind on bereavements close to him. Once he even claimed that he would be but able to write while lying under a shroud. Furthermore, writing seemed to be the essence of his existence. His work Roppongi includes eleven articles. Each one is just like a condensation of other works from the same author. The research mainly aims at the burial rituals and the meaning of corpses presented in the book Roppongi. Taking a religious philosophical approach, the research attempts to discuss the perception of death and corpses shown in the Catholicism, the Hinduism and the old Japanese ballade of Narayama. Moreover, regarding the short novel “Roppongi”, as the book is named, the research tries to analyze which deep-rooted Buddhist and Christian meaning is manifested in the narrator's strongly held belief: His deceased father shows himself to him as a white heron again, and how he reinterprets the conflict between father and son while seeing that heron.
