摘要

《海東諸國紀》僅記載日本、琉球兩國，其中又以日本的份量最多，佔97%。此書有六幅地圖，由這些地圖可以了解朝鮮人關心對馬、壱岐兩島的程度、日本人的世界知識，及十五世紀朝鮮、日本、琉球三國對東亞地區的認識。此書對日本的政治、社會、風俗、地理有全面的觀察，並且匯集有朝鮮對日本的各種聘問規定，是一部十五世紀朝鮮人認識日本的集大成，也是理解中世日本與朝鮮外交往來重要的史料。

”Hae Dong Che Guk ki” records only Japan and the Ryukyu Islands. Japan occupies ninety-seven percent of the book. It also contains six maps and from them one apprehends the extent of concern the Koreans had on the Tushima and Iki islands; Japanese world knowledge and Korea's, Japan's, Ryukyu's awareness of the East Asian region in the fifteenth century. This book has comprehensive observations on Japan's politics, society, customs and geography. Moreover it is the most detailed history document on Japan and Korea's foreign diplomacy in the fifteenth century.
