書信作為互文：論《威尼斯商人》中安東紐致巴薩紐書

摘要

書信是常見的戲劇手法，然而它扮演戲劇人物的角色趣味卻常被忽略。書信本身雖即意昧著寫信者不在場，不在場的寫信者卻經由書信的閱讀而上場了。但在讀信的當下，書信，亦即作者，受到讀信者的心意左右，成為讀信者的詮釋支配下的文本。儘管如此，書信的場上效果和作用卻未必遜於或不利於寫信者本人。本文探討《威尼斯商人》中安東紐寫給巴薩紐的信與此劇其餘文本的互文趣味，說明這封信的閱讀如何牽動主要角色間的利害關係與互動、串起三個情節主軸（選婿、割肉、戒指計），並影響整齣戲的劇情發展。
