Nomenclatural Notes on Wu P'i Ch'a or the Black-Barked Tea Plant

The Indo-Malayan genus Pyrenaira and the southern Chinese genus Tutcheria have been merged, the new name for Wu P'i Ch'a is Pyrenaria shingkoensis (Hayata) H. Keng. It is further postulated that this p ant could have reach d Formosa via southern China prior to the formation of the present Taiwan Strait.
