This index is planned to present our knowledge of the bryoflora of Taiwan in a single shortened treatment. The 385 species in116 genera, 9 subspecies, 15 varieties and 4 forms of hepatics; 644 species in 243genera, 5 subspecies, 58 varieties and 9 forms of mosses hitherto known from our area are listed in alphabetical order respectively, including three new combinations and two nom. nov. proposed by the senior author. Thirteen additions reported as new records are also made by him.
