卵重與孵化率之關係

摘要

1．卵重與孵化率的關係，三年資料中來航及名古屋均爲負相關，而1950-1951年的資料表示不顯著而已，洛島紅1948-1949年資料乃表示顯著的負相關，而其餘兩年則爲正相關，但不明顯。蘆花除1948-1949年爲不明顯的正相關外，共餘兩年亦均爲負相關，關於蘆花洛島紅在三年的資料中分別有正相關，而爲不明顯。此或因該兩品種參加試驗數目較少的緣故。然而資料之大數分析的結果，均爲負相關且有顯著的表示。此即各品種之卵愈重，其孵化率有愈低的趨勢。
2．卵重在50克以下者一般的孵化率亦不佳。
3．卵用種（來航）的平均孵化率較兼用種（洛島紅，名古屋，蘆花等）的平均孵化率爲高，平均孵化率來航爲86.679±0.019，洛島紅爲86.007±0.119，蘆花爲77.445±0.115及名古屋爲70.017±0.178，兼用種中以洛島紅孵化率爲最高，蘆花次之，以名古屋爲最低。以變量分析法分析孵化率差異情形之結果，表示四品種間之孵化率差異顯著，各品種孵化率的差異，似不能以品種間卵重來解釋而爲環境之適應或共他因子的關係。

Hatchability was studied in relation to the total egg weight for four breeds such as S. W. Leghorn, Rode Island Red, Barred plymouth Rock and Nagoya (Japanese breed), from October 1948 to June 1951. From the data the following results were obtained.
1. Either Leghorn or Nagoya showed a negative correlation for each of three years significant in the 1st and the 2nd year but insignificant in the 3rd year. The negative correlation indicated that the larger the egg, size the smaller the hatchability.
2. The three year data of hatching power of Rode Island Red showed a significant negative correlation in the first year and insignificant positive correlation in the following two years, of Barred plymouth Rock showed a significant negative correlation in the 1st and the 2nd year, but insignificant in the 3rd year.
3. However. Figure A. B & C indicated that the egg size below 50gins. by weight had, in general, a decreasing tendency in hatchability.
4. The hatching power of Leghorn breed exceeded that of general purpose breeds. The hatchability of Leghorn was 86.879±0.019 percent. That of Rode Island Red, of Barred Plymouth Rock and of Nagoya were 86.007±0.119, 77.445±0.115, and 70.017±0.178 per cent respecively.
The analysis of variance among the hatchability of the four breeds showed a significant difference: The F value was 6.16(1%=9.78. 5%=4.76).
