木瓜雜交第一代利用試驗

摘要

（一）木爪雜交F1與親本生長量比較中，種子方面之種子重、種皮重、胚及胚乳重、種子長及寬、有減退之傾向，幼苗期間之苗高、苗粗、苗寬、葉面積及成熟期間之株高、株寬、葉數均有促進效果。對開花期之促進，則由於不同組合而異，各組中以P爲母木者，對開花期之促進最爲有效。
（二）就F1及親本禦水性加以比較，F1水災死亡率爲31.94%，親本爲63.89%，F1平均禦水強度，超過親本一倍以上，其中以(P×S)F1在各組合中爲最強。
（三）F1之產量以(P×S)F1、(P×N5)F1、(S×P)F1三組合爲最高，其中均有P親本存在，其中尤以(P×S)F1組合，在品質、產量、生育、禦水性、果重，果形等方面均甚理想，較之Solo優良品種並無遜色。
（四）據第8表中，16種各項不同特性綜合比較結果，F1各項特性平均值，除糖度、果重兩項稍有減退外，其餘十四項平均值較親本均有促進效果，由此可悉F1之利用在木爪方面具有希望。

1. In Comparing the quantity of growth of hyhrid F1 papayas with their parent plants, there is an indication of decreasement on weight of seeds, seed coat, embryo, endosperm, and length as well as width of seeds. An effect of promotion can be seen on seedling stage of F1 papaya on height, diameter, width of seedling plants, and area of leaf blade of seedlings; the same effect also shows on plant height, plant width, and number of leaves on adult plants. As for the promotion of blossom, it varies with different combinations, whenever variety of philippine is used as a parent plan (female) in each combination, the inducing effect on early blossom is very significant.
2. A Comparison on the ability of resistence to water lodging between F1 and its parent plants was made during observation, percentage of flood damage of F1 plants is 31.94% while that of parent plants is 63.89%. The average ability of resistance to water of F1 plants surpasses their parents one-fold and more. Among those comhinations, the (P×S) F1 combination is the best one.
3. Among the F1 plants, (P×S) F1, (P×N5) F1, and (S×P) F1 give the highest yield, each of them has variety of philippine as one of the parent plants (female plants). The (P×S) F1 combination is very desirable on quality, yield, growth, resistance to water, fruit weight, and shape of fruit. It is even superior to the excellant solo variety in evry aspect except the brix and flesh colour.
4. A comparison made from 16 different features as listed in Table 9. showed that the mean value of all the features of F1 papayas expressed a kind of promotion effect, except Brix and fruit weight which showed a little reduction. The utilization of F1 papayas is verp hopeful.
