盤固草(Pangola grass)之栽培試驗

摘要


1.經二年栽培與觀察的結果選出盤固草,適宜在紅土山地栽培,與象草同在適當時期收割來比較產量,雖然象草的產量較多,但其莖基部份容易硬化,即會損失此部份。盤固草可以全部供飼用,因此利用價值不亞於象草。象草則宜在肥沃之壤土上栽培。 2.種植盤固草後經約三個月即覆滿地面的關係,不需經常除草。象草就因有行間存在的關係,每次收割後均需中耕除草管理上比較繁雜。 3.不可認爲種盤固草簡單而過於粗放,種植前必須與其他農作物相同;先將土地全面耕耘耙平打碎,尤於雜草連根除淨,應先施肥後種植。因此不但可以節省種植當年的除草需費而且可使原野地真正變成良好的牧草地。 4.盤固草爲無性繁殖,種苗取生長期間45~60天而且較爲粗壯的匍匐莖,行距50公分,株距20~30公分,每穴種1~2支苗。 5.盤固草有好幾個品系在本文所說的是A24,爲能抵抗禾本科萎縮病的品系。

Napier grass, though gave high yield when grown in the fertile loam but the stem base is too stiff to be eaten by the animals, therefore reduce its value as feeds. 3. In cultivation of Napier grass, it usually takes much labour for weeding while Pangola grass does not need to weed too often, because of its vigorous growth which exhibit the growth of miscellaneous weeds. 4. After a two-year observation, it was found that Pangola grass is not suited to grow in lateritic soil of the mountainous slop land, and considered to be the good forage crop under the present condition of Taiwan. 5. Among lines of Pangola grass, observed, strain A24, was found to resist dwarf disease most strongly.
