兩性花株胡瓜之性狀及在育種上利用之研究

摘要

兩性花株胡瓜一般生育情況較弱，植株、莖葉均較細小，易罹露菌病，花朵叢生在每一葉腋，花數由數朵至十數朵。果實小而多刺，剌細色黑，呈卵球形，在商業栽培生產上利用價值甚少，但與全雌性株雜交，後代花性表現屬「強雌性」，為維持或育成全雌性系統胡瓜之最佳材料。同時，此雜交後代第一朵雌花開花期，亦較其全雌親提早2~5天，此特性在育成早熟性品種上甚有利用價值。

In general, the growing vigor of hermaphroditic cucumber is weak. The stem, the leaves and the plant size are much smaller than those of the common cucumbers. They are susceptible to downy midlew and the flowers from two to many are borne in clusters, located on the axillas. The fruits, olivary with black spines are small and have no commercial value. However the sex expression in the cross of gynoecious with hermaphroditic cucumber is ”all-female” with earlier flowering than its female parent. Therefore, this hermaphroditic charateristic can be used to improve the earliness of local varieties.
