The requests of this communication are summarized as follows:
1. The ingestion rate of blood clam is constant when the concentration of ingesting material in the medium is maintained within certain range. On the contrary, the amount of pseudo-feces produced is found to be related to the concentration of ingesting material in the medium.
2. Both ingesting rate and filtration rate of blood clam are affected by the water temperature, with an optimum range around 20-30℃.
3. Salinity also found to have significant effects on both ingestion and filtration rate. Its optimum value was around 20-30 ppt.
