A study on the ammonia acute toxicity to three stages of larval blackporgy Acanthopagrus schlegeli was conducted by static method.Larvae at one, five, and ten days after hatching(H1,H5 and H10)were exposed to variousammonia concentrations in sea water under 25℃,30 ppt,and pH 8.1 for 24hours.The tolerance to ammonia was the strongest for H1 and the weakestfor H5.The 24-hr LC50 values were 29.90,10.83,and 12.26 mg/1 ammonia-N(1.66,0.60,and 0.86 mg/l NH3-N)for H1,H5,and H10,respectively.
