Macrobrachium equidens(Dana,1852)inhabits brackish and marine-waters.Its larval development belongs to the”common type”.Freshly laid eggs aredark-brown in color,and have an average size of 0.67×0.53 mm.Under theconditions of 25.0-28.5℃ temperature,10 ppt salinity,eggs become brown andhave an average size of 0.87×0.65 mm at 20 days after spawning.When rearedat water temperature of 25.0-29.0℃ and salinity of 34 ppt,the larvae developethrough 11 planktonic zoea stages,and then become benthotrophic postlarvaein 43 days after hatching.
