Redefinition of a Doubtful Cyprinid, Acheilognathus mesembrinum Jordan and Evermann, 1902, with Replacement in the Valid Genus, Metzia Jordan and Richardson, 1914, a Senior Synonym of the Genus Rasborinus Oshima, 1920

摘要

本文係報告重新檢視早期臺灣淡水鯉科魚類重要模式標本，包括：Acheilognathus mesembrinum Jordan and Evermann，1902，報導產於蘭嶼島上；以及Ischikauia macrolepis Regan，1908與Rasbarinus takakii Oshima，1920等可能在本省已滅絕之魚種，均應視為同種異名之鯉科魚種。本研究之重要發現為A. mesembrinum之模式產在原始記錄應在宜蘭蘇澳一帶，並非是蘭嶼島，並且本種應更改屬名成為Metzia mesembrinum (Jordan and Evermann)，擬稱為大鱗麥氏，因此麥氏屬Metzia Jordan and Richardson，1914應為細屬Rasborinus Oshima，1920之優先同屬異名。

Rexamination of the three type specimen series of Taiwanese cyprinids including Acheilognathus mesembrinum Jordan and Evermann, 1902 (described type locality, Kotosho or Lanyu); Ischikauia macrolepis Regan, 1908 and Rasborinus takakii Oshima, 1920 confirmed that they are the same species. The important discovery for the type correct locality of A. mesembrinum is Suwata (Suwo Bay), Ilan County, not Kotosho (Lanyu) as listed in his publication. The result also suggests that all original descoveries of the localities for these type specimens should be in Taiwan and they should be placed under the valid genus, Metzia Jordan and Richardson, 1914 which is a senior synonym for Rasborinus Oshima, 1920.
