Partial Replacement of Fish Meal by Protorsan meal for Spotted Grouper Juvenile, Epinephelus coioides

This study investigated the effects of replacement of dietary fish meal with protorsan meal on the growth performance of orange-spotted grouper, Epinephelus coioides. Five isonitrogenous (45% crude protein) and isolipidic (11% crude lipid) were formulated to contain 0, 5, 10, 15 and 20% protorsan meal protein (PSM) to replace fish meal protein. This experiment was carried out in a completely randomized design with three replicate for each treatment diet and each replicate had 7 fish (average initial body weight 1.87 g) for six weeks. Fish were maintained in a recirculation seawater system and water temperature and salinity were kept from 27 to 32oC and 30 to 33 ppt, respectively. Fish were hand fed three times daily and weighed every three weeks. Fish fed diet included 5% PSM had significantly higher weight gain percentage than those fed diets included 15 and 20% PSM. However, there were no significantly different weight gain percentage of fish fed diets containing 0, 5 and 10% PSM. Grouper fed diet included 20% PSM had the significantly lowest weight gain percentage among treatment groups. Feed conversion ratio (FCR) of grouper fed diets containing 0 and 5% PSM was significantly lower than that of grouper fed other treatment diets. There was no significantly different in survival among treatment groups and survival ranged from 95 to 100%. Diet can be included 10% PSM to replace fish meal protein and showed no adverse effect on growth performance of grouper in this study. Weight gain percentage of juvenile grouper fed diet included 5% PSM was higher than that of grouper fed control diet. Therefore, it can be suggested that diet included 5% PSM to replace fish meal is the optimum level for juvenile grouper diet.

實驗二為期六周,探討以味精粕取代飼料中之魚粉對點帶石斑成長之影響。實驗設計以味精粕取代飼料中魚粉含量0-20%,配製五組等蛋白(45%)、等油脂(11%)之實驗飼料。各處理組間為三重覆,每缸採隨機分佈放養7隻點帶石斑,魚體初重1.87 g。實驗期間水溫為27-32℃、鹽度為30-33ppt,以循環水系統蓄養。每日投餵三次,每三週秤重以觀察成長趨勢。實驗結果顯示石斑魚苗餵食0 PSM、5 PSM及10 PSM處理組之末重及增重率皆無顯著差異,15%及20%處理組之增重率顯著低於其他各處理組,在FCR部分,投餵0%和5%的組別顯著低於其他處理組。另外,各處理組存活率皆無顯著差異(95%~100%)。由本實驗結果得知,10%味精粕取代飼料中魚粉對點帶石斑之成長不會有負面影響,然而點帶石斑魚苗餵食含5%味精粕的增重率較餵食控制組高,因此飼料中5%味精粕對點帶石斑的成長為最適魚粉的取代量。
