Dietary evaluation of tuna waste and roe based feed in larval rearing of the Maldives clownfish, Amphiprion nigripes (Pisces/ Pomacentridae) at Agatti Island, Lakshadweep, India

摘要

Lakshadweep Island is bestowed with rich fisheries resources both food fishes and ornamental fishes. The waste and discards generated from the tuna fisheries could potentially serve as a low valued protein rich ingredient for the larval feeds of marine ornamentals. The current study evaluates the dietary performances of tuna waste and roe based feed in comparison of commercially available feed. The current study establishes the superiority of tuna waste and egg based feed over the conventional fish meal based feed in terms of length and weight gain, SGR, FCR and colour developments in juveniles of Amphiprion nigripes.
