摻Er及Er/Yb共摻於鋅鋁偏磷酸鹽玻璃性質研究

Properties Study of Erbium Doped and Erbium/Ytterbium Co-doped Metaphosphate Glasses (ZnO-Al2O3-P2O5)

摘要


本文主要針對摻入不同量稀土氧化物的三元系鋅鋁磷酸鹽玻璃(P2O5-Al2O3-ZnO),做一系列的結構與性質探討。實驗結果顯示,本系列玻璃的摻Er2O3及Er2O3/Yb2O3共摻量與玻璃性質有很密切的關係。當Er2O3或Yb2O3濃度含量增加時,玻璃之熱膨脹係數(α)下降,玻璃密度、玻璃轉化溫度(Tg)、玻璃軟化溫度(Ts)則隨之增高,同時玻璃之耐水性也有顯著的改善。Er(上標3+)/Yb(上標3+)離子濃度多寡也將會影響其對泵激雷射的吸收與發射等光學特性。本系列鋅鋁磷酸鹽玻璃的摻Er2O3及Yb2O3量分別爲0 mole%~10 mole%與0 mole%~4 mole%。實驗結果顯示,當Er(上標3+)及Yb(上標3+)濃度增加時,其吸收率與激發強度會隨之增加;但當Er(上標3+)濃度高於3mole%以及當Yb(上標3+)濃度達4mole%時,可能受到離子團聚或玻璃內OH¯團之影響,造成光致發光(PL)强度下降之現象。

The objective of this thesis is to study the structure and properties of ternary zinc aluminum phosphate glass (ZnO-Al2O3-P2O5) doped with different rare earth oxide. It is shown that properties of glass depends strongly on the content of Er2O3 doped and Er2O3/Yb2O3 co-doped. The thermal expansion coefficient (α) of glasses decreases, and the density, T(subscript g) as well as T(subscript s) of glasses increase as the concentration of Er2O3 or Yb2O3 increase. The chemical durability of glasses is also great improvement at the same time. Besides, Er(superscript 3+) and Yb(superscript 3+) ions content also affect the absorption and emission of pumping laser. The contents of Er2O3 doped and Er2O3/ Yb2O3 co-doped zinc aluminum phosphate glasses are 0~10 mole% and 0~4 mole% respectively in this study. The results show that the absorption and excitation intensity increase with Er(superscript 3+) and Yb(superscript 3+) ions content. However, if Er2O3 doping is more than 4 mole%, the ions clustering or OH¯ group existing in the glasses will result in PL intensity quench.
