應用民族植物使用研究之量化方法

Applied Quantitative Methods for the Research of Ethnobotanical Uses

摘要


量化方法應用於民族植物學之研究,可更深入地闡釋與瞭解人與植物資源間的相互關係。而為深入瞭解民族植物使用研究之量化方法,本文除介紹應用於此領域之生物歧異度指數,並依總用途(研究者記錄)、主觀分配法(研究者評分)、受訪者共識(受訪者記錄),以及受訪者共識(受訪者評分)等4種類別,詳加說明各種民族植物使用研究的定量分析方法。其中,考量文化、實用及經濟等3種層面的總價值指數(TVI),可較為全面性瞭解植物使用與人類之間關係的意義,然其資料的蒐集因牽涉經濟部分而較為繁複。因此,就目前台灣對民族植物學之相關研究的資料蒐集類型而言,如欲應用量化指數加以分析,本研究建議可採用總用途(UT)、使用價值(UV(下標 RS)),以及相對重要性(RI)等3種指數,可進一步瞭解當地居民與植物資源間之相互關係,或用於比較不同地區使用植物的特性與習慣。

Using quantitative methods on the research of ethnobotany is helpful to explain and understand the relationship between human beings and plant resources. To realize the quantitative methods for the research of ethnobotany uses, the biodiversity indices applied to this field were introduced in this study. The analyses were demonstrated by use totaled (UT, researcher tally), subjective allocation (SA, researcher score), informant consensus (IC, informant tally), and IC (informant score). The meaning of the relationship between plant uses and human beings was more completely understood to consider the total value index (TVI) of cultures, the practical utility, and the economics. However, the data collection involved in the economics was more complicated. So far, according to the collecting type of the data from the research of ethnobotany in Taiwan, it was suggested to adopt the three indices in case of analyzing with quantitative indices. They were the use totaled (UT), the use value (UVRS), and the relative importance (RI). It could go deep into understanding the interaction between the inhabitants and plant resources. It was also helpful to compare the specialties and habits of using plants in different areas.
