This study is to investigate the aboriginal poetic works collected in ”Selections from the Poems of the Year” by applying a qualitative and narrative analysis. First, the researcher examines all the twelve poems written by aboriginal poets and collected in the series of ”Selections from the Poems of the Year” throughout these years. Then, according to their backgrounds, the writers of the twelve poems are categorized into different groups. What's more, after comparing the writers' different writing styles and different ways of language manipulation, the researcher sums up the different theses in the twelve aboriginal poetic works. The finding shows that in these twelve poetic works, the most common types of narrations are about ”mountains”, ”seas”, ”hunters”, ”females”, ”emotional release”, ”dreams and expectations”, ”the glory of their history”, and ”music and dancing.” Not only does the researcher apply the narrative analysis to every single poetic work, the researcher also assays the twelve aboriginal poems as a whole by means of narrative analysis. In the end, five axes are found. The five axes inducted in the aboriginal poetic works collected in ”Selections from the Poems of the Year” are ”weakness”, ”contentment with lives”, ”kindness and friendliness”, ”being brave and good at hunting”, and ”tragic fatalism.” These five axes are also the most important characteristics of aboriginal literary works.
