Experimental Design of Test on a Capillary Suction Time

毛細吸力濾性測試法影響因素之探討

摘要


Experimental design is particularly useful in screening experimental variables. Using Plackett-Burman design technique and a set of self-made capillary suction apparatus, the variables which affect the capillary suction test have been studied. The variables studied include filtrate viscosity, solid content of slurry, cylindrical column inside diameter, agitation, static height of the slurry feed and grain direction of the filter paper. Experimental results indicate that filtrate viscosity and cylindrical column inside diameter are the dominant factors. Experimental results also indicate that 4 cm of slurry static head and larger cylindrical column inside diameter are recommanded. In addition, the agitation is not necessary.
