Synthesis of High Purity Mullite Powders

摘要


高純度富鋁紅柱石粉末,可藉Al_2O_3-SIO_2系之溶膠-凝膠法在較低溫度下獲得。合成過程中,富鋁紅柱石的生成量多寡及結晶大小,與起始膠體的性質有重要的關係。由本研究結果顯示:在室溫下合成之似水鋁石(pseudoboehmite)膠體,其Al_2O_3含量在73〜74 wt%者,經1300℃O燒後可得富鋁紅柱石相含量> 93 wt%且粒徑為30 nm的超微粉末。

High purity mullite powders can be obtained under low temperature environment through the calcination of the sol-gel products of the Al_2O_3-SiO_2 system. The quantity and crystal size of mullite thus formed depend strongly on the crystal type and crystallinity of the Al_2O_3-SiO_2 xerogels. According to present study, the best conditions for the synthesis of mullite from sol-gel of Al_2O_3-SiO_2 system will be: 1. Al_2O_3 contents in the solution: 74~75 wt% 2. reaction temperature: 25°C 3. reaction pH: 8.8~9.5 4. calcination temperature (mullitization): 1300°C The mullite powder product can be made with purity >93 wt%, and particle size 30 nm.
