蛇紋岩提取氧化鎂之基礎研究

Study for Recovery of MgO from Serpentine

摘要


蛇紋岩內含有36〜38%之氧化鎂,如能以廢棄之蛇紋岩粉料為原料提取其中之氧化鎂,不但可充分利用礦物資源,且可作為耐火材料及化工填料方面之應用。本研究針對本省東部之蛇紋岩進行性質分析及浸漬、過濾、純化等實驗,所得結果如下:(1)萬榮、壽豐、瑞穗、玉里之蛇紋岩其化學成份、礦物組成,及加熱性質均相近。經1小時750℃焙燒之試樣所游離鎂約60%,若將浸漬溫度提昇至100℃則其鎂浸漬率也隨着昇至90%,但因游離矽之產生而不易過濾。(2)利用水與硫酸產生之水和熱可提高未焙燒蛇紋岩浸漬液之溫度至130℃,得出80%之鎂浸漬率且無矽膠阻礙過濾之間題。(3)上述溶液經純化後,實際得到純度99.08%之氧化鎂,若從蛇紋岩之原含量而言,總囘收率約為70%,已完成此提鎂程序之初步研究。

Serpentine contains 36-38% magnesia. If one can extract the magnesia from the waste serpentine, one would not only be able to fully utilize the mineral sources but also be able to utilize it as refractory and chemical fillers. In the present work the serpentine deposits of the Eastern Taiwan has been studied on the aspects including physical property analysis, leaching, filtration and purification. The results are described as follows: 1) The serpentine deposits of Wann-rong, Show-feng, Ruey suey and Yuh-Iii have similar chemical compositions, mineral components, and thermal characteristics. The calcination of the serpentine at 750℃ for one hour is able to isolate 60% of the magnesia. If the leaching temperature is raised to 100℃, the proporation of the magnesium leached would be enhanced to 90%. But, due to the production of isolated silicon, the filtration of the magnesia becomes difficult. 2) The hydration heat released by the mixing of water with sulfuric acid raised the temperature of the leaching solution for uncalcined serpentine up to 130℃. It consequently enhances the degree of magnesium leaching to 80% and eliminates the filtration problems caused by silica gel. 3) The purification of the above leaching liquid will give rise to magnesia powder with a purity of 99.08% and the recovery rate of magnesia from the original serpentine can reach 70%. According to the resultspresent study, a completed process for recovering of the magnesia from serpentine is developed.
