Determination of the Floatability of Solids by A Simple Vacuum Flotation Cell

簡易眞空浮選裝置對固體可浮性之研究

A simple vacuum flotation cell has been introduced in this work. This device has been tested with a low-volatile bituminous coal that has been subjected to different degrees of oxidation. Flotation tests were carried out in concentrated sodium chloride solutions and in aqueous methanol solutions, respectively. Experimental results have indicated that the vacuum flotation technique employed is capable of determining the effects of oxidation on coal floatability in both flotation media. Advantages of this vacuum flotation device over the Hallimond tube are also discussed.
