臺灣海岸山脈砂岩之地球化學及其構造意義

The interpretation of the geochemistry and structure of sandstones in the Northern Coastal Range, Eastern Teiwan

摘要


海岸山脈北段蕃薯寮層及八里灣層各類砂岩之主要元素及微量元素,均呈相當顯著的差異。依據主要元素鑑別參數作圖顯示,各砂岩之TiO_2, ΣFeO, MgO含量及Al_2O_3/SiO_2, K_2O/Na_2O, Al_2O_3/CaO+Na_2O等比值之變化,與其沉積盆地構造背景間,具有密切的對比關係。利用主要元素鑑別函數模式統計分析結果,大致可推斷,本區之蕃薯寮層及八里層可能分別沉積於海洋性島弧區及活動性大陸邊緣區等不同構造背景之沉積環境中。

The major and trace element compositions are obviously different between the sandstones of Fansuliao and Paliwan formation in the Northern Coastal Range, Based on the plots of major element discriminating parameter, the contents of TiO_2, FeO, MgO and ratios of Al_2O_3/SiO_2, K_2O/Na_2O, Al_2O_3/CaO+Na_2O are intimately correlated with the plate tectonic setting of ancient sedimentary basins. According to the result of the discriminant function analysis of major element compositions, it can be roughly inferred that the sandstone of Fansuliao and Paliwan formation are dominantly derived from the oceanic island arc and active continental margin respectively.
