出磺坑構造北端之新鑽探目標

New Prospects on the Northern Part of the Chuhuangkeng Structure, Miaoli, Taiwan

摘要


出磺坑構造位於苗栗市東南方約12公里,為一北北東走向之紡錘形斷層背斜構造,係台灣最、大最老之油氣田,從清咸豐11年(1861)開始,迄目前仍繼續生產中,唯大部份生產均侷限於構造中段之高區部份。本研究係利用立體鏡與觀測航空照片,對出磺坑構造後龍溪以北地塊,作全面之線型分析與岩性分佈追蹤,而后至野外對可疑處作實地核查,以求證是否有足以形成構造封閉之橫移斷層存在。野外追蹤線型的結果,確認了四條可視落差且橫切背斜軸部之走向滑移斷層,上述斷層除了合乎應力一應變之理論模式外,並與重力精測結果吻合,斷層出露處並形成斷層泥帶,具有封閉油氣之潛能。

The Chuhuangkeng structure, located in about 12 km southeast of Miaoli, is an elongated, faulted anticline with the axis trending northeast, which is the largest and oldest oil /gas field in Taiwan. The production of hydrocarbons in the field was started from 1861 , and has continued at present The main purpose of this study attempts to locate the new strike-slip faults on the northern part of the Chuhuangkeng structure, where is situated on the north of Ho-Lung-Chi. Lineament analysis and lithology distribution study of the said block were carried out by means of stereoscope and aerial photography. After ground tracing of the lineaments, four mappable transcurrent faults which transect the anticline axis were defined. The newly discovered faults are in accordance with the stress-strain model as well as the gravity result, huge amount of gouge has been recovered along the fault trace, too, which may offer good sealing to the hydrocarbon accumulation in this area.
