This study relates to a systems planning in marketing for the dimension stone industry of Taiwan. As such, the systems planning consists of recognition of the following parameters for dimension stone products, such as product-type, pricing, place and promotion. In the face of the imminent transitions, a most up-to-date (up to current year of 1996) comprehensive survey of the dimension stone industry of Taiwan has been conducted. It is noted that a prominent controlling factor for the boom-bust forecasting of dimension stone industry seems to be related to the number of building construction permit issued by the authority.
