Hot spring resource is abundant in Taiwan and its development has been identified as one of the main projects to double the income of the tourism business in 2008. However, there are many issues arose nowadays such as resource depletion, disorder pipeline erection, and excessive discharge of the hot water. In this paper the Principle of Heat Exchanger Network was applied to the optimal utilization of hot spring resources. Possible effects such as thrift of the energy, the reclamation of heat and the improvement of excessive discharge of hot water were studied.
