We developed a series of processes that stabilize and recycle aluminum dross. Calcium oxide-containing materials (such as desulfurization slag) are used as stabilizing agents for the aluminum dross, and the end products are high-pressure concrete bricks. In a strong alkaline environment hydrolyzing calcium oxide (pH ≧ 12), the residual pernicious components in aluminum dross (such as aluminum nitride) are hydrolyzed rapidly to stabilize the aluminum dross wastes. The concrete brick manufacturing process, where the hydratiing alkaline environment further stabilizes the aluminum dross wastes and produces concrete bricks as the final products.
