摘要

吳建福院士於1971年畢業於國立台灣大學數學系，於1976年在美國柏克萊加州大學獲得統計傳士。目前任教於美國喬志亞理工學院工業系統工程系。吳院士於1987年獲頒COPSS獎，2000年被選為中央研究院院士，並於2004年成為第一位統計學者被獲選入美國國家工程院，也是第一位華人統計學者具有此項殊榮。吳院士也曾獲頒其他重要獎項及頭多銜。吳院士在世界上一流的期刊中發表過超過100篇的學術論文，並指導過33個傳士研究生。他曾與M. Hamada合著”Experiments: Planning, Analysis, and Parameter Design Optimization” (Wiley, 2000)。及與R. Mukerjee合著”A Modern Theory of Factorial Designs” (Springer, 2006)。

C. F. Jeff Wu got his BS in Mathematics from National Taiwan University in 1971 and Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of California, Berkeley in 1976. He is Professor and Coca Cola Chair in Engineering Statistics at the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology. He received the COPSS (Committee of Presidents of Statistical Societies) Presidents Award in 1987 and other numerous awards. He was elected a Member (Academician) of Academia Sinica in 2000, and was the first academic statistician to be elected a Member of the US National Academy of Engineering in 2004. He is also the first Chinese statistician to be elected to one of the National Academies. Professor Wu has published more than 100 research articles in peer review journals. He has supervised 33 Ph.D.'s. He co-authors with M. Hamada the book ”Experiments: Planning, Analysis, and Parameter Design Optimization” (Wiley, 2000), and with R. Mukerjee the book ”A Modern Theory of Factorial Designs” (Springer, 2006).
