摘要

This study discusses the effects of temperature and day length on the seedling (H. glaucescens and Hippeastrum 'Red Lion') growth. The result showed the best bulbling of H. glaucescens formed under short-day illumination at 20℃, followed by 15℃ ＞ 30℃ ＞ 25℃, and under long-day illumination at 30℃＞15℃＞20℃＞25℃. Leaves grew better under two days of light at 25℃. More leaves were found at 20℃ and 25℃. The 2nd greatest leaf length and the maximum leaf length were the greatest at 30℃ under a regimen of two days of light. Under short-day illumination, the 1st scale leaf at 20℃, the 2nd scale leaf at 15℃, and the 3rd scale leaf at 25℃ had better thickness, while it made no difference to the 4th scale leaf under long days, the better thickness formed at 30℃. The leaf weighed 4.2g at 25℃, and the bulb weighted 1.33g at 20℃ under short days. The ratios of leaf weight to bulb weight at 25℃ under short day and long day conditions were 4.44 and 4.08 respectively. The bulbling and seedling growth of Hippeastrum 'Red Lion' is similar to that of H. glaucescens.
