The alpha particle groups from thin aluminum targets bombarded with 2.0-3.0 MeV deuterons from the Tsing Hua Van de Graaff accelerator were studied with an energy resolution of -90 KeV. Eight of these groups were observed, corresponding to the ground state and excited states of M^25 with excitation energy O-3.40 MeV. Angular distributions of various alpha particle groups were measured from angle 35” to 155°, and excitation functions at angle 45° were measured in the bombarding energy range 2.0-3.0 MeV. Total cross sections of alpha particle groups averaged over four bombarding energies from Ed=2.36 MeV to &=2.92 MeV and integrated over angles from. 35” to 155” were compared with the (21+1) rule. These were also compared with previous measurements by Jahns et al and Hansen et al.
