The F^19(d, α)O^17 Reaction and the 2I+1 Rule

The F^19(d, α)O^17 reaction has been studied in the bombarding energy rangeEd=1.6-2.1 MeV. The integrated cross sections of four a groups are compared with the 2I+1 rule where I is the spin of the residual nucleus. The calculated total cross sections based on the statistical compound nucleus theory are compared directly with experimental ones and a better agreement is obtained.
