Projection Operator Method and Radiative Decay of Two-Atom System

The projection operator method of nonequilibrium statistical mechanics is applied to the study of radiative decay of two-atom systems. Using the projection operator a Dyson equation for the single particle Green's function is obtained. Calculating the appropriate Green's functions describing the atomic fields, results in agreement with those of previous workers are obtained.
