Compton Scattering of 662KeV Gamma Rays by Ta K-Shell Electrons

並列摘要

The Compton scattering cross sections of 662 KeV gamma rays by Ta K-shell electrons were measured at the scattering angle θ=30°, 40°, 50°and 60°. The method employed was T-X coincident measurement. 2”×2” NaI(T1) with aperture of 3.0 cm diameter was used as the scattered T detector, while 3”×3” NaI(T1) with aperture of 6.6 cm diameter was used as K X-ray detector. The 662 KeV gamma rays come from a well collimated and lead shielding 1.2 Ci Cs^137 radioactive source. Our results as well as Shimizu's results follow the Whittingham's relativistic calculation.
