Low-Lying 1∑^+ g States of Li2-with Orbital Exponents Determined Empirically

An empirical method for obtaining orbital exponents is used in the usual LCAO MO Cl calculations for Li2. The lowest three 1∑^+ g states are calculated and they are shown to be stable. Comparisons of the excited states are made with some available theoretical and experimental results.
