Magnetic Moments of Astrophysical Objects as a Consequence of General Relativity

A rotating astrophysical object with spin angular momentum s→ generally exhibits a magnetic moment μ→. Observational data accumulated for over a half century indicates that for widely varying astrophysical objects μ = β(√G/c)S, where β is a constant of the order of unity. This emperical relation is here discussed in terms of Lense-Thirring effect in the general relativity.
