The Stability of Simple Quantum Systems

The stability of simple quantum systems consisting of elementary particles interacting via known forces is examined. It is shown that very loosely bound or resonance states can be formed. When the binding energy is very small, the independent particle type approaches are inadequate. It is shown that the hyperspherical coordinate method can be used to study the stability most efficiently when the adiabatic potential curves are calculated.
