Effect of an Impurity and Electric Field on the Optical Properties of a Multiple Symmetrical Quantum Dot

The effect of a hydrogenic impurity and an electric field on the optical absorption coefficients in a multiple symmetrical quantum dot are investigated in the framework of the effective mass approximation and variational method. The results show that the peak value of the absorption coefficient and refractive index decreases and shifts to higher energy. The effect of the impurity position and size of the quantum dot on the optical coefficient are also considered.
