杉木造林地疏伐對林下植被之影響

Effects of Thinning on Understory Vegetation in China-Fir (Cunninghamia Lanceolata) Plantations

摘要


本研究於臺灣大學實驗林之內茅埔營林區中,20及25年生之杉木林(Cunninghamia lanceolata)內,探討輕度疏伐(疏伐率27%)作業對林下植被植群之影響。我們於1998年11月至2000年3月,比較69-5號造林地疏伐樣區(除1999年1至4月疏伐期間之外)及64-7號造林地非疏伐樣區,林下植被植群結構在疏伐前後之差異。疏伐樣區疏伐後1個月林下植被變化較大,其繁茂指數(Luxuriant index)由疏伐前163.1減少為62.4,疏伐後4及7個月分別增高為139.4及143.9。在疏伐後4個月林下植被回復指數(Recovering index)為0.84,植群結構已與疏伐前十分接近。非疏伐樣區林下植被變化不大。輕度疏伐後對於林下植被結構造成立即之影響,尤其在集材或搬運木材期間,林下植被植群曾被大量踐踏破壞。然而在疏伐後4至5個月,林下植被即回復至接近疏伐前之狀態。

We studied the effects of low-intensity thinning (thinning rate=27%) of a 20 year-old China-fir (Cunninghawia lanceolata) plantation on understory vegetation in the Nay-Mau-Pu tract at National Taiwan University Experimental Forest, Nantou County, Taiwan. We compared the vegetation structure of understory at a thinning site 69-5, except for the thinning period of Jan-May 1999, and an unthinning site 64-7 before and after thinning from Nov. 1998-Mar. 2000. The Luxuriant index of understory decreased significantly after thinning one month than pre-thinning (163.1 vs. 62.4 individuals), and increased gradually after thinning four and seven months (139.4 and 143.9). The Recovering index (0.84) of four months after thinning revealed the vegetation structure of understory near to pre-thinning. Results from this study suggest that the effect of low-intensity thinning was likely to be most pronounced during the log removing period when the understory vegetation was severely trampled and disturbed. The understory vegetation recovered after four to five months.
