存活分析應用於棲蘭山檜木直播更新動態之研究

Study of the Direct Seeding Regenerated Taiwan Red Cypress and Taiwan Yellow Cypress by Survival Analysis in Chi-Lan-Shan

摘要


林木的更新仰賴幼苗的補充,透過存活分析幼苗更新的動態,有助於釐清樹種更新的機制與限制。以棲蘭山35年生柳杉人工林,經行列疏伐後直播原生檜木種子,觀察於疏伐跡地更新初期存活情形。研究發現直播於現地的紅檜與台灣扁柏種子平均發芽率分別為7.0±5.7%、4.2±3.7%,而發芽苗粗死亡率分別為83.3±33.7%、69.8±36.6%;地表植被覆蓋率對檜木幼苗存活時間並無顯著影響。經播種12個月後,比較二樹種發芽率與幼苗存活時間,發現紅檜有較高的發芽率及死亡率,顯現紅檜與台灣扁柏發芽苗對環境適應的差異。本研究分別以cox模式迴歸分析與配適Weibull迴歸方程式技術建立幼苗存活風險迴歸模式與存活率迴歸模式。結果顯示存活率變化,在適當的時間點配合多次供應種子,可確保幼苗補充。苗木建立是林木族群更新的重要階段,以存活分析方法,探討樹種在萌發初始階段的存活動態資訊,可提供檜木種子撒播更新策略與檜木幼苗建立初期管理作業的參考。

The purpose of this study was to explore the germination and survival rate of direct seeding regenerated Taiwan red cypress (Chamaecyparis formosensis) and Taiwan yellow cypress (Chamaecyparis obtuse var. formosana) in artificially created forest row thinning gaps by survival analysis at Chi-lan-shan in northern Taiwan.The results showed that the germination rates and crude mortality rate were 7.0±5.7%and 83.3±33.7%for Taiwan red cypress and 4.2±3.7% and 69.8±36.6% for Taiwan yellow cypress. However, no significant differences were shown for seeds survival days between two vegetation cover treatments by statistical analysis.The germination and crude mortality rate of early stage from Taiwan red cypress were higher than and those from Taiwan yellow cypress. Moreover, the seedling occurred dead gradually for Taiwan yellow cypress and large suddenly for Taiwan red cypress.The survival and hazards curves were fitted by Cox and Weibull model. The results showed that the vegetation cover and species factors during various growth periods between the two species were not significant. These results provide silvicultural and forest tending information for direct seeding regenerated Taiwan red and yellow cypress stands at Chi-lan-shan area.
