臺灣主要四種針葉樹人工林地位指數建立之研究

Establishing Site Index Curves for Four Main Taiwanese Coniferous Plantations

摘要


本研究旨在建立臺灣地區重要針葉樹人工林之地位指數曲線式,研究樹種為紅檜、柳杉、杉木及臺灣杉,並以國有林事業區內永久樣區調查資料進行分析。研究區域涵蓋臺灣地區,並採用二期之永久樣區調查資料進行分析,第一期資料用以建立地位指數曲線,第二期資料則用以驗證模式。在地位指數之建構上則以林分之優勢木樹高及林齡為基礎,採用Richards型態模式以非線性最小二乘方法建立地位指數曲線,由第一期永久樣區調查資料所建立之地位指數模式建立效果以臺灣杉較佳(R^2=0.496);另由第二期永久樣區調查資料驗證模式所得之殘差均方根值(the root mean squared error; RMSE),4種樹種均小於2 m,顯示模式的推估效果良好,本研究所得結果將可提供臺灣地區針葉樹人工林經營之參考。

The purpose of this study was to establish site index curves for four main Taiwanese coniferous plantations, namely, Taiwan red cypress (Chamaecyparis formosensis), Japanese cedar (Cryptomeria japonica), China fir (Cunninghamia lanceolata), and Taiwania (Taiwania cryptomerioides), respectively. Data of this study was collected from the forest permanent plots of national forest working circles. In addition, we used two different periods investigation data in this study, the first investigation data was used to establish site index curves, and the second investigation data was used to validate them. Mean dominant tree height and age for each stand were adopted to establish site index curves. The Richards type function and nonlinear least square techniques were applied in site index equations. The results showed that Taiwania (R^2=0.496) was surperior to the others when the first investigation data was used to establish site index curves and it appeared satisfactory after validating because the root mean square error (RMSE) of four species were all smaller than 2 m. The results could provide foundational information for coniferous plantations to access sites.
