臺灣傳統建築用紅色彩繪塗料之研製

Manufacture of Red Colored Paintings for Traditional Architecture in Taiwan

摘要


本研究以臺灣傳統建築用之紅色彩繪塗料為例,分析以桐油展色劑調配不同紅色顏料包括銅紅、鉛紅、鋁紅、鎘紅及銀朱製造紅色彩繪塗料,探討最佳顏料添加量及種類,以作為最適化彩繪塗料調配之參考。本研究分析彩繪塗料基本性質如指觸乾燥、硬度、拉伸強度、破壞伸長率、附著性、耐溶劑性、耐光性及屋外曝露試驗等,並輔以傅立葉紅外線光譜儀(FT-IR)及熱示差掃描卡量儀(DSC)分析,探討桐油展色劑與紅色顏料的反應機制。試驗結果發現,彩繪塗料基本性質如指觸乾燥時間、硬度、拉伸強度、破壞伸長率與耐溶劑性等,隨著顏料濃度增加而提升,當到達臨界顏料添加量後則下降,顏料添加量以低於桐油展色劑重量之30%為宜,不同顏料種類中,以鎘紅製造之彩繪塗料具最高之塗膜硬度及最佳之耐光性與屋外暴露耐久性,其他性質較為均衡,最適用為紅色彩繪塗料之顏料。

A case study of red colored paintings manufacture for traditional architecture in Taiwan was performed. The best added amount and kind of red pigments for red colored paintings which prepared from tung oil vehicle and various red pigments such as cuprous oxide, red lead, molybdenum red, cadmium red, and vermilion were examined. The fundamental properties of colored paintings including set to touch time, hardness, tensile strength, elongation at break, adhesion, solvent resistance, lightfastness, and exterior exposure test were conducted. In addition, the reaction mechanism of tung oil and red pigment were also investigated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analyses. The results indicated that the fundamental properties such as set to touch time, hardness, tensile strength, elongation at break, and solvent resistance were enhanced with increasing the pigment concentrations and were decreased when the critical pigment concentration reached. The proper added amount of red pigment was less than 30% based on the weight of tung oil vehicle. Among the red colored paintings, the one containing cadmium red had the highest hardness, best lightfastness and durability of exterior exposure test and possessed a balance characteristic between other film properties. Therefore, the cadmium red is a candidate of red pigments for red colored painting manufacture.
