四湖海岸低濕地木麻黃天然更新可行性之研究

FEASIBILITY OF NATURAL REGENERATION OF CASUARINA IN SIHHU LOWLAND COASTAL WINDBREAKS

摘要


本研究以四湖海岸低濕地木麻黃林為對象,經開溝整地後,探討人工干擾對木麻黃林下更新之影響。依冠層透視度區分為高冠層透視度樣區(76-100%)及低冠層透視度樣區(50-75%)。據調查結果顯示,在四湖海岸低濕地內的木麻黃林帶透過大範圍開溝整地作業,經清除雜草、枯枝落葉層後,確能促使木麻黃下種更新;至於未整地之樣區,均未發現木麻黃之更新苗。整體而言,整地後之低濕林地,冠層透視度在50%以上的林地,其林下可發現木麻黃之更新苗,但在低冠層透視度下其更新苗的高生長會受抑制。除光度外林地內之地被植物、枯枝落葉層及水分供應等均影響木麻黃更新苗的出現。低濕地雖提供木麻黃種子發芽之水分供應,但雨季時遭長期淹浸的樣區卻易造成10cm以下小苗的大量死亡。此外,整地後木麻黃的更新苗分布不均勻,單株間大小差異甚大,需再投入適當之撫育作業。

The study aims at natural regeneration of Casuarina in Sihhu lowland coastal windbreaks, and exploring the effects of artificial disturbances on it. After land grading, the windbreaks are divided into two groups: high canopy transparency plots (76-100%) and low canopy transparency plots (50-75%). The result shows that land grading, with the help of cleaning ground vegetation and litter layer, can improve natural regeneration of Casuarina in Sihhu lowland coastal windbreaks; as for plots without land grading, not any natural regeneration seedling is found on them. As a whole, at lowlands, with canopy transparency above 50%, it is not difficult to grow natural regeneration seedlings, but the height of the seedlings is likely to be suppressed. Besides the light, ground vegetation, litter layer, and water supply all have influence on the appearance of natural regeneration seedlings. Although lowlands can provide Casuarina with enough water as a supply for sprouting, the long-term flooding plots during the rain seasons easily cause a large number of deaths in the under 10 cm tall seedlings. Moreover, after land grading, Casuarina regeneration seedlings scatter everywhere and have discrepancy in their size. Hence, more proper tending is needed.
